Retrospect for Respect–A Gamecube Awareness Program

www.truedoogie.com Back when the Cube first came out, I was editing clips together using IGN’s videos and a crappy POS machine. 233mhz of raw power! It sucked. I am amazed at how far I have come. I have great equipment and awesome resources. I have wanted to make a Cube video to look back on the system. It is my favorite system ever and a lot of people have no idea that there are so many good games on it. I needed more room in the song, but I didn’t have it. I had to artificially add more to the song to get more room. I made it significantly longer, but it wasn’t enough. There are about 550 Gamecube games out there. There is no way I could get them all. The song is a Mario Paint remix. I love the remixes from OCREMIX.org, but there was no song that wasn’t character specific. I found this one on accident and thought it was awesome. Look for the song credits in the video. They did a really good job with it. This is also the first time I have done compositing, putting images over video and making background video. It worked out great. I am a big fan now, though it took a lot of work.

Nintendo Gamecube sold 15 million units until January 2004. That means that its sales data were the same as XBOX360 nowadays. However, the system had to face many hostile reviewers, stubborn developers, mobbing techniques and, worst of all, many N64 users who did not want to hear about a new Nintendo console displacing their own myths. By the way, the GC sold most of its units during the Yamauchi era, this is quite telling regarding Iwata, who left the system unprotected.

Great vid man! I was thinking of making one similiar to yours for years. Not of gamecube games, but for older systems. Great work.

Man….how come trailers for games can’t be this good?

I have 60 some games for my GCN, 4 are Zelda, 2 are Metroid, 5 are Mario. No Mario Parties either. There is more on the GCN than the three major flagship mascot games.

I do like Link, Metroid, and so on, but the people who say that the GameCube is bad just don´t like any of those characters, unless you showed tham Peach in panties…

  11. KrrAinagotable says:

Sorry man but most things you say are just fan sayings, like ¨it was the only system that showed positive growth in 2003.¨ Accept it, man, the PS2 sold 5 times what the GameCube did… And I have a GameCube!

  12. neopm5k says:

Anyone who thinks the GCN had no good games should watch this.
