Film Sensei: Cine City Matte Box Review

www.FilmSensei.com – Today at the Film Sensei, Mat Nastos takes a look at a piece of filmmaking equipment from India, the Cine City Matte Box. Like a lot of you, I am on a pretty low budget when it comes to getting new equipment for my independent and guerrilla films — I just don’t have the money that bigger indie guys have to spend and I wind up spending a lot of time online searching for the right piece at the best price. Recently, I stumbled on to a place called the Cine City, which is a manufacturer of low budget (no budget) film equipment from India. In spite of being a bit hesitant about sending money to India for a product I’ve never seen in person, I went ahead and took the chance. Check out the video to see what I discovered about the low budget filmmaking equipment from India.

Atlas SLP-7K Full Rise Scissor Lift

Greg Smith Equipment has added another space saving scissor lift to the Atlas product line. The Atlas SLP7K full rise scissor lift combines an extremely low lift platform height and a 74 inch full rise scissor jack system. The Atlas full rise scissor lift is the perfect above ground lift for those customers with ceiling height restrictions. The Atlas full rise scissor lift is also perfect for those service shops that want to avoid the cluttered look of dozens of vertical lift columns. The distance between the lift platforms of the Atlas SLP 7K scissor lift can be adjusted to accommodate a full frame, uni-body, or SUV (truck) lifting points. The separate control panel may be conveniently positioned to allow easy access for the operator. The 220 volt (single phase) electric/hydraulic power unit is housed inside the metal control panel box. The push button controls activate the raising and lowering of the lift…and the sophisticated 10 position air actuated lock system is automatically engaged and disengaged as the lift is being raised or lowered. Each hinge point has a zerk grease fitting to allow maximum lubrication to each joint. The UHMP wear blocks ensure years of smooth operation of the lifting surface. The control panel has two DOWN buttons. Once the lift platforms are lowered to within 10 ½ inches of the ground, the lift stops its descent. The second lift button needs to be depressed (which emits an alarm noise and a red alarm light flashes) to allow the lift to go
