Hot Wired Overdrive/Distortion pedal by Wampler Pedals
www.wamplerpedals.com I have been working with Brent Mason for a while. If you haven’t heard of him, I’m sure you’ve heard him. He plays on almost everything you hear on the radio in the country music world, tons of TV, commercials, and movies as well. He’s one of the most recorded guitarists in history and is huge in the studio world. He and I have been working through tons and tons of different overdrive and distortion pedal circuits to get to this point – the point where he plugs in, looks at me and says “OH YEAH! THIS IS IT!!!”. The One. For Brent, The pedal that sounds and reacts to touch better than anything available today. This is the “Brent Mason Overdrive and Distortion”. Brian. I used to talk to you on myspace years ago. This pedal looks like what I was hoping for. Great sounds. One criticism: Chrome knobs are the enemy on stage. I have a (dying) line 6 pedal with chrome knobs, had to put paper stick-ons colored with sharpies just to see what was going on. Same with an amp I have with chrome knobs. It all looks great until somebody loses an eye. Maybe a much thicker black line on top of knobs. Great sounding/looking pedal though, congrats. DC
My search for an all round high quality overdrive/distortion pedal is finally over. This does it all from country, blues, rock and metal, it’s all in this box. I stumbled across this pedal by accident after my Nova Drive stopped working. I spent ages looking. You really have to play this pedal to believe its flexibility and quality. Thanks Brian for your work, research and availability in the UK. Good stuff deserves good comments, I’m on cloud nine. Good tone/sound is very inspiring. Try it out.

Am I able to use this pedal with a Voodoo Lab ISO 5 power block (am in Australia 240V) ?
I bought a US Boss PS6(DC9V) and it works fine here with the above set-up , same thing you think?
…I listen to many pedal demos on Youtube but I always have to come back to Wampler pedals to please my ears. Best pedals in the world !

can this get a really dirty rock sound something that Eddie van Halen would use? im just curious cause its got an awesome overdrive but its a little pricey to just take a chance. i play all styles of music and this pedal seems very useful.

I own this pedal and have been playing it thru my Fender Blues Jr. amp with fantastic results. I have my amp set clean and let this pedal do the work. It has a great warm tone, great for blues & rock. I’ve also played this thru my Fender 5150 III amp (set to clean) and, yea… it rocks! 🙂 Using one of my strats or my Gibson ES-345, you can get a bazillion tones. Yea… a bazillion. Also using a Wampler EGO comp before it for a bit more zing.
This is one kick ass overdrive. So versatile!

How close would you say the Overdrive side is to the Plexidrive? Would buying this pedal sort of be like buying the Plexidrive and more??

Do you have any sound samples where you have the sound go directly into the com and not through a camera and youtube compression? it looks dead gorgeous though =)
